Description
Morphology
Made up of a single gallery of comfortable dimensions, 2 metres wide by just over 2 metres high and with a flat floor. The total length is 18 metres and in the last stretch the section narrows and it then immediately becomes closed.
History
Explored by members of the ERE-CEC around 1970, who included it in the list of cavities of the Editorial Alpina map: el Montsec (1972 edition), stating only that it has a length of 26 metres.
Visited and surveyed in June 1984 by Joan Pallarès.
Currently (2017), both on the ICC map and in the informative leaflets with a plan available at the la Masieta information centre, the cova del Mut is placed at the spot where the cova de les Roques Peronyes is actually located. We do not understand what this error is due to, since in the leaflets published at the time by the fundació Territori i Paisatge de Caixa de Catalunya, the cave was correctly located on the camí de Mont-rebei.

Jo coneixia aquesta cova com a cova del Mut perquè havia viscut molt temps un senyor que era mut. El meu informant va ser un senyor gran d'Alçamora. Jo llavors tenia 20 anys.
