History

In May 2015 Antoni Satorra, while on a kayak trip on the Canelles reservoir in the Mont-rebei area, observed what appeared to be the entrance of a cave in a cliff, located below the path of the Pertusa to the mas de Carlets. In September 2016, together with Josep Mª Molgó (Soci), they located the cave and rigged a rappel on the cliff down to the cave. In 2018 they got in contact with Espeleoíndex to find out whether we had any information about this cavity, which turned out to be unpublished. It was left to go during 2019 to do the survey, but the death of Antoni Satorra in July 2019 paralysed everything.

Once Covid-19 had passed, in the summer of 2022 we got in contact again with Josep Mª Molgó to go and survey the cavity; we arranged for after the end of the year, when one of those who had to go had recovered from an operation; unfortunately “el Soci” passed away on 14 December 2022.

We have thought it appropriate to include the record of the cavity in Espeleoíndex so that its exploration is on record, and if anyone finds it again they can expand the information about it.
