Characteristics

Location

We will leave from the village of Roda de Ter along a paved track that we find on the right, just at the entrance to the village. Following this track for about 2 kilometres, where we will find a path that will take us to Mas Salou, and from there a dirt track leads to the chapel of Santa Magdalena; when we have gone about 300 m from the farmhouse we will take a path on the right that climbs alongside the crag (it is called the camí de les balmes); we will follow the path for 500 m until we find on our right the small upper entrance of the cave.

Description

Morphology

It is a cavity opened in a large, heavily fissured sandstone block. The entrance measures 1 m in height by 60 cm in width; there is an embedded slab that makes passage difficult. Once past the narrow section, we find an inclined joint 12 m long by 2.5 m high and 70 cm wide that emerges to the outside. Right next to the entrance, on our right, we find a small chamber 4.5 m long and 2.5 m wide, from which two inclined galleries emerge in the form of a joint 10 m long that emerge to the outside. These galleries are parallel to the previous one and form a set of fissures with 38 m of development and 8 m of vertical extent.

History

Unpublished cavity until it was documented by members of GE Badalona who visited it in April 2022.
