Description
Morphology
It has a mouth 8 metres wide, 14 high and 8 metres deep below the water level. It continues with these dimensions, though the height decreases, until reaching a chamber from which three galleries lead off.
The main one follows the same direction, requiring a climb over some blocks and returning to the water, which there has a depth of one metre. We continue while the gallery narrows because of the blocks, until we climb over some more and come to a small room with half a metre of water that seems to end in impenetrable cracks.
Returning to the chamber, we follow a second gallery running N, which at 20 metres is blocked by a collapse of blocks. This barrier can be passed by climbing over them or going through with a small sump, and we reach a chamber 9 metres long that ends in a small beach.
The last gallery is very hidden, and runs almost parallel to the entrance one, but in the opposite direction. It is quite narrow and high and its passage is 16 metres.
History
Known forever by the fishermen of the area. It is possibly better known in the area as Cova d'en Cateura, but the only speleological bibliography we know of is that provided by members of the SIS – CE Terrassa, who fully explored it and made the survey in August 1980 and catalogued it as Cova de la Punta Pola.
It seems that it is still known by many other names, probably not very correct.
