Characteristics

Location

On the road from Noves de Segre to Taús and before reaching Bellpui, we find a track on the left that leads to a house and a few metres further down reaches the river; the track continues on the other side of the river, following its course. About a hundred metres after crossing the river we take an ascending path on the right side. After half an hour of climbing in zig-zag we leave the path and cross a torrent to head towards some walls to the south. First we find the cova del Pi Gros, a little further east we find the cova del Pont and a little further east we find the cova del Roser; about 10 metres above is the cova de l'Escala, which is visible from the road and the river; the cova de la Barra is 370 metres east of the cova de l'Escala, on the other side of the ravine; it is difficult to approach due to the vegetation and the verticality of the terrain. The entrance is in a large fissure that can be seen from the road.

Description

Morphology

It is a gallery that at approximately 30 metres splits into two, an upper one that climbs up to +9 metres and a lower one that descends to -10 metres. It seems that both galleries belong to the same joint and are structured amid an enormous chaos of blocks. The total elevation difference is 19 metres (-10/+9).
