Fairly wide underwater tunnel, 3 metres wide by 5 high, crossing the southern zone of Illa Pedrosa from NE to SW. It measures between 60 and 70 metres in length and has a closed branch to the SW.

History

Explored in the 1950's or 1960's by the physician Dr. Juan Eugenio Sala Matas (1918-2002), founder of the CRIS and expert diver, highly knowledgeable about the entire underwater coastline of l'Estartit and the Illes Medes. The cave was named after his surname.

In 2007 it is visited and surveyed by members of the SIE – CEA, who named it Túnel de l'Illa Pedrosa.
