Location

We will leave the village of la Bisbal de Falset along the T-713 road towards Margalef; before reaching the Km 12 point we will take a turn-off to the right that descends to the Montsant, el river, which we will cross by the pont de la Bisbal. Here we will find a junction of tracks; we will take the one on the right, which will bring us along parallel to the river. This track will bring us to an emblematic spot called the roca de les Planes, a very singular rock monolith. When we have covered approximately 1.5 Km we will find an ascending path that will lead us to the cova d'en Boíxa.

Description

Morphology

It is a very spacious rock shelter 76 m long by 14 m deep and with a maximum height of 12 m.

Speleothems

Standing out is a large block covered with stalagmitic formations and tufa 5 m high, located in the centre of the rock shelter.

Other details

The cavity presents the remains of old walls.

History

Known since remote times.
