Characteristics

Location

From Montblanc we will go to the barranc de la Vall. After passing the Estret de la Vall we will follow the track that goes up the ravine on the hydrographic right (left according to the direction of travel). At 350 metres the track crosses the ravine and continues on the other side; at 650 metres it joins the track that also comes from the Estret de la Vall, but which is in worse condition. We will follow the track passing the Mas de Ponet; after covering 2.2 kilometres we will park where the track practically ends, where there is space for a couple of vehicles (4x4). From here we will go back about fifty metres until we find the GR path on the left; after a kilometre we will cross the ravine and continue about 300 metres more uphill. On a left-hand bend we will find a cairn; we must go down to the right a few metres to the ravine and cross it, coming out on the right, and follow a waymarked path that in a steep climb will take us to the cave.

Description

Morphology

A wide mouth gives access to the rock shelter on its S side. On the front of the rock shelter two walls of travertine and formation have formed that partly close it and from a distance, with much imagination, give it an appearance similar to a dragon's mouth. The route is 19 metres.
