Location

In the Roca Blanca massif, right-hand slope of the Noguera Pallaresa. Below the col formed on the ridge that descends from the summit of the Pic des Miques (Escala Alta on old cartography) in a NW direction and at the head of the ravine that originates here.

Description

Morphology

Circular mouth 2 metres in diameter that gives access to a bell-shaped shaft 30 metres vertical. At its base begins a steeply sloping ramp that within a few metres reaches an impassable point.

Other details

At the bottom of the entrance shaft, a chough nest (cigales, in the area) may be found.

History

During the summer 1977 campaign, in view of the poor results obtained in the Cuns d'Aulà area, where the members of the Société Spéléologique du Plantaurel and other collaborating French groups (T.A.M.S.; A.S.M.P.; G.S.O.T.) had been exploring since 1975, they decided to go to the other side of the Noguera Pallaresa to inspect the massif they had seen from Aulà. That year they located half a dozen cavities and explored some of them; the first is the one they called EA.1, which they had located on 16 July.
