Description
Morphology
The cavity can be accessed through five entrances. The largest of all opens at the NE end of the cavity; this gives access to a large descending gallery. Just after entering and on the left, in a small side chamber, we find a shaft that connects with a lower gallery, through which we reach a chamber from which three galleries emerge, of 5, 8 and 9 metres respectively.
At the end of the large descending gallery through which we entered, we find three new continuations. One of them, after climbing five metres, connects with the outside through entrance no. 2. The second continuation, just below the previous one, connects with a chamber where the three remaining entrances open (3, 4 and 5). In this chamber and below entrances 3 and 4, a small laminator opens that connects with el Bufador no. 8 de Beví.
History
The first records of visits to one of the cavities located inside this great fissure correspond to Dr. Francesc Español, carried out in 1934 for biospeleological purposes.
In 1965 the Grup Espeleològic Terra i Mar (GETIM) of Sabadell explored the avenc dels Tigres; the avenc del TIM, the avenc Besora and the avenc del Vent.
Later the ERE of the CEC between the years 1977 and 1980 carried out a meticulous inventory of the cavities located in this fissure, which would be published in the magazine Espeleòleg no. 34-35.
During 1979 the Centre Espeleològic Cervelló carried out the exploration of various cavities of this fissure, with the aim that they be published in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (Borràs-Miñarro-Talavera); this led to giving a new name to some cavities.
The EspeleoÍndex team has considered it more appropriate to use the naming of the cavities made by the members of the ERE-CEC, since it is a more complete joint work. This same line regarding naming has been used by Jordi de Valles in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (4).
