Location

We will leave the village of Joanetes, along the GIV-5273 road towards Sant Privat d'en Bas; after km 4, on the left, a cemented track leads to the installations of the Bracons tunnel where the track ends; here we will continue along a dirt path that leads us to the ermita de Sant Mateu.

Description

Morphology

The balma has maximum dimensions of 32 metres wide by 8 metres deep and a height of 9 metres.

Speleothems

On the riera de Joanetes is found this waterfall that has originated the formation of travertine and the balma as a consequence of the regression of the stratum.

Hydrology

With the pool that forms there, in periods of abundant flow, this singular ensemble is transformed into a beautiful spot.

Progression

In a setting surrounded by lush vegetation, just behind the ermita, we will find a path that goes up the riera along the left side that will lead us to the balma and the salt del Roure.

History

Cavity known since time immemorial. Visited and catalogued on 28-10-2017 by members of the GE Badalona.
