A modest rock shelter in Sant Feliu Sasserra (Bages), surrounded by vegetation, 46 m long, 6 m deep and with a maximum height of 3.40 m.

Characteristics

Location

We will set out from the village of Sant Feliu Sasserra along a forest track that leaves to the left and leads to the Bonells farmhouse; we will continue always along the main track, leave several turnings, and when we reach the upper part of the terrain, we will find a fork to the right that, on a gentle descent, will take us to the rock shelter.

Description

Morphology

We find the cavity surrounded by abundant vegetation. It measures 46 m in length by 6 m in depth and has a maximum height of 3.40 m.

History

Referenced on the ICGC map.

The place name refers to the Carlist Wars, since the cavity may have been used as a lookout post by Carlist soldiers, although there is no confirmation of this, even though that war had a certain influence on the life of the village.
