Location

Leave Vilanova de Meià on the L-913 road towards Pas Nou. On reaching the font Blanca, follow the track to the right and turn right again towards the Cogulló. At the end of the track, level with the first building, leave the vehicle and head for the geodetic vertex, located to the left of the track. The rock shelter is right below the geodetic vertex, on the SE slope.

Morphology

Small 11x6x7 metre rock shelter.

Speleothems

On the left-hand side and at mid-height there is a stalagmite-shaped concretion.

Other details

Inside the rock shelter there are some schematic paintings.

History

On 31 December 1963 it was explored by the ERE of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, although this small rock shelter had been known in Vilanova de Meià since time immemorial.

In 1982 J.R. González Pérez and J.L. Rodriguez Duque discovered some Bronze Age paintings there; the study of these paintings was published by L. Díez-Coronel the following year.
