Characteristics

Location

While climbing the stairs that lead to the cova del Salnitre, once you reach a flat stretch without steps, here begins a small path that in a few metres leads us to the avenc Desprès. Above this one can see a steep channel that requires climbing about 25 metres (further up the cova Alta can be seen). On one stretch a rope is installed (2010), you must follow to the left according to the direction of ascent and go to find the start of another channel (installed plate) and descend to the base of the rock where the mouth of the pit is found.

Description

Morphology

A narrow mouth allows access to a pit 12 metres deep. At its base there are two continuations, to the N the gallery continues, among blocks and on the right a branch is left and a few metres further on one can access a chamber situated at a slightly higher level, with the floor covered by large blocks and with an inclined profile. At its lowest point a short descending gallery begins that connects with a gallery that goes back towards the base of the entrance pit. The starting point of this gallery is obstructed by a slab of rock that fell between 1976 and 1979 (according to observations by F. Cardona).

Again at the base of the entrance pit, to the right a gallery begins that gradually takes on a certain inclination and to which different connections with the upper floor arrive and some short branches to the right. In the final stretch the floor rises slightly and one reaches the obstructed passage that would connect with the upper floor described.

History

Discovered and explored in 1963 by members of the Grup d'Espeleologia de Badalona, starting from a small forat bufador that they had to clear.
