A 19 m deep pit in the Coma Oriola area, in Masella (Cerdanya).

Characteristics

Location

The pit is located in the Coma Oriola area, at the Masella ski resort (Cerdanya).

To access the upper part, you must leave the Coma Oriola car park, at the Masella ski resort. We will go up through the Coma Oriola valley (pista dels Isards) and bear to the right to look for some meadows that begin where the cliffs coming down from the Serra de les Pedrusques end and that make it easier for us to enter the forest via a trail marked with cairns. The trail climbs steadily through the forest in zigzags (cairns) until it opens out and gives way to a meadow that drops away toward the cliff. We have climbed about 300 metres of elevation gain. If in doubt, we bear to the left in the direction of the cliff and continue climbing until we find the meadow at 2,247 metres. We go down through the meadow and look for the rocks on the right; below a large dry black pine we can already rig the first rappel.

The coordinates indicated are those of the upper point of the cliff from where the rappel must begin to be rigged in order to reach the upper entrance.
