Location

Located approximately about 75 metres below the ruins of Meià castle, on the SE slope and just below a platform caused by the displacement of the rock mass that gave rise to the cavity.

Description

Morphology

A first 2-metre drop gives access to the main fissure, about 2 metres wide. After 5 metres it narrows and, after a second 4-metre drop, it bifurcates, the right-hand one reaching the maximum depth of -13 metres.

Progression

A first 2-metre drop gives access to the main fissure. After 5 metres it narrows and, after a second 4-metre drop, it bifurcates, the right-hand one reaching the maximum depth of -13 metres.

History

Explored in April 1965 by R. Viñas (ERE del CEC). The GELL explored and surveyed it in 1993. The doubt we have is that Viñas places it to the NW of the hermitage of Meià, whereas this cavity is located to the SE of the hermitage.
