Description

Morphology

A small entrance leads into a single shaft of -9 metres deep with an elongated section in the direction of the fissure W 10 N – E 10 S. The floor is full of rubble and at one end an impenetrable passage opens that appears to continue at depth.

History

The first record we have of this cavity is that given by members of the GE Pedraforca who explored it on 22 February 1970, giving it the name avenc de la Boixeda. Later, in 1972, it was explored together with 9 other very nearby cavities by the ERE of the CEC; they kept the name but numbered them in order to identify them, assigning this one the number 9.
