Short pit on the hill of Can Batlle (Begues), an old sparry calcite working with a wide 3 x 2 m entrance and a strictly vertical shaft.

Characteristics

Location

From Begues, passing beside the sports centre, you must go to Can Figueres. On reaching the turn-off that leads there, continue straight along the track until it divides into three. Continue on foot along the left-hand one, following the Fondo de Can Figueres until the path again divides into three; take the one on our right, which, in a steep climb, brings us to the collet de Can Batlle.

Follow the track towards the N and within a few metres, on the right, the entrance of the pit can be made out.

Description

Morphology

Wide entrance of 3 x 2 m. Strictly vertical shaft with a stretch of bretxa on the E side. Floor with a slight slope and backfilled with rubble.

Other details

Characteristic sparry calcite working shaft.

History

Old sparry calcite working. Visited and catalogued by speleologists of GEFOMA in the 1970's.
