Characteristics

Location

From the Poliesportiu Municipal de Begues, head towards Can Figueres and, shortly before reaching the house, follow the track to the junction with the torrent of the same name. Continue along the path parallel to the torrent in the direction of the hill of Can Batlle. Almost at its summit, between the path and the metal fence dividing the properties, lies the cavity.

Description

Morphology

Large opening of 5 x 4 metres with a central cone of blocks covered by vegetation. To the E, a low passage gives access to a descending gallery that ends in a 1.5 metre drop, coinciding with a sudden change of direction, before closing completely.

Speleothems

Final section covered by speleothems.

Progression

To the E, a low passage gives access to a descending gallery that ends in a 1.5 metre drop, coinciding with a sudden change of direction, before closing completely.

History

The first speleological mention appears in Jordi Lloret's 1978 catalogue, and it states that the data were provided by J. Marqués (GEFOMA).

The lower gallery appears to have been opened during the 'sparry calcite' extraction works.
