Description
Morphology
The small entrance hole gives way to a gallery on a slope of about 18 metres in length. At the final part of this gallery a gap opens that gives way to a second chamber of the cavity, with characteristics similar to the upper one, also descending, although it has a lower ceiling and presents some unimportant branches.
History
Explored by members of the ACE Mataró in 1968, who explored it and made the only survey we know of. We update the record (March 2016) adding that very possibly the first exploration was carried out by Joan Senent (ERE – CEC) and a friend on 19 March 1963, naming the cavity Avenc del Purgatori, calculating a depth of 20 metres. (Information taken from the circular of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya).
