Description
Morphology
The cavity has a depth of 5 m. The shape of the cavity is a wide funnel a dozen metres long and five wide. The slope is gentler on the N side, where one can easily descend to the bottom of the cavity. Toward the S side a bit of gallery in the form of a balma can be seen that goes in a couple of metres, but it ends abruptly. On the S side, the funnel forms a small vertical of five metres.
History
Very possibly the pit was known to the former inhabitants of the mas de l'Espluga, but there is no speleological reference until 26 October 1986, when Jaume Claverí and Joan Boixader (GES – CM Terrassa) found the cavity in the middle of a thick forest.
