Characteristics

Location

From the W of Albinyana an asphalted track sets out and in little more than a kilometre climbs up to the castle of l'Esquernosa and the chapel of Sant Antoni de Pàdua, where there is a recreation area. From the S corner of the chapel, the cavity lies 142 metres to the W10S. To reach it, from the S wall of the chapel follow the recreation area in a SW direction for some 80 metres, until passing the area where there are tables; here we find a wide path going down which we follow for about twenty metres, then we must go to the right, passing the first line of scrub, coming out at an old abandoned cultivation terrace; we must follow it in a NW direction for 46 metres, where we come to the mouth of the cavity.

The mouth gives way to a pit of about 5 metres. This places us in a descending gallery where the cavity ends. Halfway along this gallery and on its N side, there is a short gallery.

Progression

The pit of about 5 metres can be descended with the help of a safety rope.

History

It was discovered in 1967 by J. Sastrada (SES del Club Esquí Puigmal), at the end of a hard day.
