Characteristics

Location

From the doline of Campgràs we will go up the road towards puig Ginebró, where the “bola” of the radioelectric installations of the serrat de la Morella is located. On reaching the gate of the installation, we will follow the metal fence to the left until reaching its end; from there we will continue in the same direction for 28 metres, where we will find the mouth of the cavity at the base of a rock.

Description

Morphology

The mouth is 0.40x0.60 metres and is open on a bedding plane. It gives way to a 10-metre pit of constant dimensions that can easily be free-climbed. At the bottom we find a small chamber with a steep boulder slope that leads to a new 5-metre pit, at the bottom of which, in an impenetrable passage, the cavity ends.

Progression

The 0.40x0.60 metre mouth gives way to a 10-metre pit of constant dimensions that can easily be free-climbed. At the bottom we find a small chamber with a steep boulder slope that leads to a new 5-metre pit, at the bottom of which, in an impenetrable passage, the cavity ends.

Other details

Along the entire length of the 10-metre pit, clear signs of corrosion are visible on the rock.

History

As recorded on a metal plaque at the mouth, the cavity was explored by the Grupo Juvenil Espelunca de la OJE de Barcelona on 23 February 1975. According to the record published in the magazine Exploracions (4), the cavity was discovered in 1974 and it was necessary to clear the mouth and a narrow passage at the -14.5 metre level.
