Characteristics

Location

From Hortoneda we will head to the Coll de la Creu; once we have reached the Coll we must climb to the right in a southerly direction and through the middle of the forest towards the summit of Montpedrós (1614 metres). The cavity is found shortly before reaching the summit and not too far from the cliff. Approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

It has two entrance mouths, one 1 metre in diameter and the other 0.5 metres. Both give access to a small chamber with a clastic structure; at one of its ends a 10-metre-deep shaft opens up that places us at the lowest point of the cavity. The cavity is structured along a joint running N-S.

Speleothems

At its southern end and above the base of the shaft, a short ascending gallery develops which ends filled up by flowstone and other lithogenic forms.

History

Explored by La SIE del CE Àliga in 1965.
