Location

Following the track that leaves from the paved road of the Pla de Sots d'Óssos and goes to the Pla d'Ardenya, once past the avenc Gran de les Alzines and before starting the descent towards the Creu d'Ardenya, we will find a path on the left and following a Northerly direction, about a hundred metres away we will find a doline totally excavated artificially where the avenc de les Alzines is located. We will climb the ridge that is behind and a little to the right in an easterly direction we will find the cavity. Next to the entrance there is a pile of stones extracted from the cavity.

Description

Morphology

Cavity of approximately about 30 metres deep. Currently (November 2019) and due to the latest rains two large blocks from the entrance have detached and have obstructed access to the second shaft at -6 metres.

Progression

Unobstructed and explored by Pedro Valdepeñas down to -5.85 metres, we estimate around the years 2001-2004, we do not know the data of the club to which he belonged at that time. Currently (2019) it is being explored as far as we know by the Espeleo Corb de Corbera de Llobregat.

As far as we know it is being unobstructed by the Espeleo Corb de Corbera de Llobregat.

History

Initially known as Avenc Pedro Picapiedra, the current explorers as well as its discoverer have come to call it Avenc de la Carena de les Alzines.
