Location

In Montsant (Margalef). Going up the path that leads to the Pla de l'Auferí and before reaching the plateau, the path passes close by some cliffs where there is a charcoal kiln; then the path turns left and becomes somewhat flatter. On reaching the next bend in the path, ahead we will see a hollow where there is a pile of stones and a bramble, just where the fire was cut off (data from 1996); at this point is where the pit is found, at the bottom of the hollow. Approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, at first, appears deceptive, similar to some interlocking blocks that form a chamber, but at the bottom of this a crawlway leads us to a shaft of -8 metres. At the bottom, following to the right, the gallery is obstructed by blocks, making any continuation impossible. To the left, after a few metres, the gallery leads us to the upper part of a room covered with gravel and with an average slope reaches the deepest point of the cavity; a short gallery leads us to a room with concretions where the cavity ends.
