A 19-metre pit in Isona i Conca Dellà, in the Pallars Jussà, first explored by C. Ribera (ERE) in April 1965.

Characteristics

Location

Mistakenly, this cavity had always been catalogued in the comarca of the Noguera. In reality it belongs to the municipality of Isona i Conca Dellà and therefore to the comarca of the Pallars Jussà.

To reach the cavity from the coll de Comiols we will follow the road to the left in the direction of Sant Salvador de Toló. Before the first kilometre we will turn off to the left along a track in good condition; after a kilometre and one hundred metres there is a turn-off to the left that leads to the Casa Blanca, one must continue straight on in the direction of Cal Castellí and the ermita de Santa Anna. After six hundred metres we find some cultivated fields on the right, one must go as far as the end of the field and from there skirt it on the left side; the field turns to the left again, we will follow it for some 40 metres and then head towards the wood in a southerly direction for some 10 metres, where we will find the pit.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 1.8 x 0.9 metres where a short ramp of 2 metres leads us down to a shaft 15 metres deep. Its base, on a slope, ends in a narrow joint.

Other details

On the ground, among the stones, we find a large quantity of bone remains (some of them human) as well as some bomb from the war of 36.

Strange as it may seem, since conglomerates predominate in this area, the cavity is found in bioclastic limestones and calcarenites.

History

First exploration carried out by C. Ribera (ERE) in April 1965.
