Characteristics

Location

On the T-244 road from Pla de Manlleu, before Km 18 a bridge crosses the stream and a track branches off to the right; take the track heading towards the bottom of the Boixer, always uphill, and after 1.4 Km you reach the ruins of the Gori farmhouse, located on the right of the track and close to a junction of tracks.

The pit is located just 200 m W of the farmhouse, at the bottom of the adjoining stream.

Description

Morphology

Absorption pit located at the bottom of the stream. Its entrance is elongated, sloping and of ample dimensions, and gives access to a first chamber in the form of a balcony, from which one descends to the final chamber, bell-shaped and of ample dimensions.

Speleothems

On the walls of the lower chamber there are some points with limestone concretions.

Other details

The floor of the lower chamber is completely covered with animal bone remains, a circumstance that suggests the pit has been used as a deposit for corpses.

History

Known since remote times by the local community.

In 1982, during the preparation of the XXIV Orientation and Regularity March by Description organised by the A.E.Talaia, it is located and presumably visited.

In March 2019, Jordi Navarro and Montse Mañosa (Centre Excursionista Castellar) visit it and make the survey.
