Characteristics

Location

By the C-55 road from Olesa de Montserrat to Monistrol de Montserrat, once past kilometre 7 we will turn right onto the track of the old La Puda spa and towards Can Tovella; after travelling 1.37 km we will find a crossroads where we will keep right; after following this track in rather poor condition for 550 metres we will find a crossroads where we will keep left; at 800 metres, at the coll de Can Tovera, we will find a new crossroads that we will follow to the right until the end of the track, where there is an electricity pylon. The cavity is located to the right of the track, at the head of a torrent and about 20 metres from the electricity pylon.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 1.92x0.7 m forms a collapse one metre deep. On the West side there is a tiny forat estret of about 0.4x0.4 m that descends to -3 metres deep. The total length is 4.5 m.

Progression

The forat estret has an air current, but the narrowness prevents progression; moreover, the walls come away at the slightest contact.

History

The first reference we have is that of the exploration by members of the SIS – CE Terrassa in 1988, although we do not rule out that it was known to the people of the SIRE – UEC Olesa who were in the area in 1965 and, due to its tiny dimensions, did not mention it.

In 2011 it was visited by members of the GE Badalona who, unaware of the work of the SIS, catalogued it as cavity no. 1 of the Puig de Cassot; both by the situation and by the survey it is quite evident that it is the same cavity.
