Località

Near the Portella Blanca, on the Ras de Llimiana, about 550m before the end of the track that climbs from Hostal Roig to the Portella Blanca, there is a flat area where the vehicle can be left. From here a faint path sets off descending, going back towards the East, and about 300m after leaving the track the entrance of the cavity opens in the middle of the terraces of the forest repopulation that was carried out between 1980 and 1982.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A long entrance of 3m x 1m gives way to a shaft of -5m. The base is wider than the entrance and a ramp of blocks leads to the deepest point of the cavity.

Storia

The cavity must certainly have been seen by the workers of the forest repopulation that was carried out from 1980 to 1982 in the Montsec, since it is in the middle of an area of repopulation terraces; even so it had gone unnoticed by the speleological world and we have no record of any exploration prior to that of May 2024. During a prospecting trip to find points marked with LIDAR relief cartography, on 19 May 2024 Joan Carles Juderias and Josep Guarro located the entrance of the cavity, but as they were not carrying equipment, they returned the following Sunday 26 May to carry out its exploration and survey.
