Caratteristiche

Località

From the small village of Beniure, almost at the end of the village, we will take a track heading towards the Barranc de Sant Esteve de la Sarga; once crossed, we will find a barrier that is usually open, but which prohibits access to unauthorised vehicles with signage. We will follow the main track for 1400 metres where we will find a junction: the right-hand one climbs up to Clot de Pou and Sant Alís, we will continue along the left-hand one for 625 metres until we reach the confluence of the barranc de la Rebolleda with the barranc del Feixal Peraire. We will continue along the track that runs alongside this latter ravine for about a hundred metres; currently (2016) there are some small numbered wooden signs nailed to the trees. On reaching number 5, where we also find a cairn, we must go down into the stream bed and climb a few metres up the other side, where we will find the entrance to the cavity, on its right hydrographic bank.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance, about 2 metres in diameter, gives way to a pit where at -7 metres we find a first ledge and at -16 we find another ledge; from here the pit continues descending to -37 metres but with a narrower section, this route offers no further continuity. Positioned on the ledge at -16 metres we will follow it southwards and reach the narrow entrance of a new pit (0.5 metres in diameter).

Concrezioni

In this 37-metre pit a drip accompanies us from the top; towards -40 metres it receives a lateral inflow that gives rise to a small “gour” and some flowstone that will accompany us to the bottom of the cavity.

Altri dettagli

The mention of Forat del Bunyidor that appears on the ICC map is more than likely to refer to the same cavity; in Beniure it is known as Brollador de Pedra Rodona.

Storia

Explored by F. Chavarria and A. Sangenís (GES del CMB) during Easter week of 1963, when they only explored the -37 metre pit. On 8 December 1967 it was fully explored by Ll. Auroux and D. González (SAS) and by R. Sitjà, M. Romero, J.I. Raventós and O. Escolà (ERE).
