Small cave with 23 metres of passage in the Montsec d'Ares, Sant Esteve de la Sarga, located in the barranc del Queixigar.

Caratteristiche

Località

It is located in the barranc del Queixigar, 30 metres to the left of the thalweg and 10 metres above it, at the base of a 4-metre-high cliff and near the point where the ravine makes a marked bend. This ravine lies between the barranc de Matamala to the W and the barranc de Comarques to the E, being a tributary of the barranc de l'Obaga Gran. The first explorers indicate that it is 45 minutes to the W of Alsamora; we do not know whether paths to approach from this village still exist.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Entrance of good size (6x1.5 metres), it is structured along a bedding plane. The width varies between 4 and 10 metres, with some low passage.

Concrezioni

Abundant columns, flowstone and dry, quite decalcified gours proliferate.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out on 28 March 1970 by members of the ERE of the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya.
