To reach the site, take the LV-9042 road at les Avellanes towards Santa Linya; at kilometre point 3 turn left towards the football field, where the car must be left. The cave is located in the limestone rock wall opposite the football field. From the field, continue on foot and go up the gully located furthest to the left. Follow it for about 10 metres and on the right-hand wall the entrance to the cave is immediately visible, located about 2 metres above the ground and partially covered by a tree. It can be located easily because in front of the mouth there is the spoil heap generated during the excavations.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The mouth opens about two metres above the ground and is 1.29 m wide. It presents a narrow gallery about 6 metres long; at the end of this, a small chamber located on the left brings the cavity to an end.

Storia

In August 2004, during a geological survey, a small cavity was located and documented with human bone remains and fragments of pottery and flint, which is probably a collective burial belonging to the Chalcolithic-Bronze Age.

In July 2005 the excavation campaign began under the direction of Lcda. Jezabel Pizarro Barberà.
