Caratteristiche

Località

Going up the road that leads to the sanctuary of the Mare de Deu del Mont, 500 metres before reaching Sant Llorenç de Sous, we find the Cingle de Roca Pastora; on the right we find the spring of the same name. We go up along its left side, climbing over the fallen blocks of the crag, and in a few minutes we will reach the foot of the wall where the cova Petita de Roca Pastora is located.

Storia

Explored by the GEB in 1983.

Through the book by Modest Prats and Joan Carreres («Verdaguer a la Mare de Deu del Mont», Edicions del Pèl, Salt 1984) a text by J. Verdaguer is known which, although it does not mention the caves, refers to the great landslide that occurred in the year 1882 and in which he says that large cracks are visible. It should be noted that Verdaguer did not stay at the sanctuary until two years later, in 1884. Therefore, he writes it based on the imaginative comments of the villagers, since even his mention of an earthquake that occurred in Múrcia is also incorrect.
