Località

Small cave at the Fondo de Vallbona (Garraf). From the Rat-penat housing development, go to find the final stretch of the Fondo de Vallbona and start heading up it through the very middle of the streambed. Past the Cova del Fondo, climb up the left slope of the ravine (on the right according to the direction of travel) and overcome a steep drop until the opening, hanging on the wall, can be seen from a distance.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The opening, hanging about 4 m above ground level, has dimensions of 6 m in width and a height of 1.5 m at its highest point. Beyond, the passage, on a slight slope, gradually narrows and loses height until it becomes impassable.

Storia

Located and visited in October 2025 by Pol Ollé during a high school project. He named it del Bon Descans in homage to his great-grandfather, known in Sitges as el Coves, for living in the area of the Coves de Sitges and who built a house with the name Bon Descans.

Despite research in old documentation and cartography, we have not been able to find any reference to this cave in this area of the fondo de Vallbona, although it was almost certainly known, even if only by sight, by the cavers of the 1960's who headed up the ravine to reach the pits of the upper area.
