Località

From Roquetes, we head toward Alfara de Carles on the T-3422 road; once past els Reguers we reach the Canal de Xerta and on the right a road branches off parallel to the canal. We cross two bridges, Pont del Bordissal and Pont de les Coves de Someres; at the end of the latter a track branches off to the left with a sign reading “Llac d'Aussera (Bassa d'Ossera) – Font Nova”. After 3.5 km we reach the Font Nova recreation area. The cave must be found a few metres above the Font Nova.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The cave entrance is protected by an iron grille, leading into a gallery that is not very high, meandering and with some narrow passages. The gallery, 47 metres long, ends collapsed by boulders. It also seems that the original gallery has been modified by human hand.

Idrologia

The entire floor is followed by a small artificial channel that carries water to the outside. From among the boulders that collapse the gallery a small amount of water normally emerges.

Storia

Cavity known in the area since ancient times. The only references we know are those given by members of the Espeleo Club Tortosa who visited it around the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.
