Località

A few metres below the S slope of the summit of the Coscollosa. Access can be gained by two routes: from Alfara de Carles via the Àrea Recreativa de la Font Nova or also from Paüls along the path leading to the Portell.

To the N of the summit of the Coscollosa (already within the municipality of Paüls) the colleagues of the Espeleo Club Tortosa explored two further cavities: Avenc Sec and the la Cova de l'Escalada. For the moment we have no specific data on either of the two.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It has two entrance mouths, an upper one via a small 6 metre pit and a lower one (cleared) that meet in the upper part of a slightly descending gallery some 20 metres long. At its lowest point a narrow 6 metre pit opens, although the entrance gallery continues onwards, though in a slightly ascending direction until it becomes blocked some 15 metres further on. Once the pit has been descended one can reach a lower gallery also some 15 metres in length at the end of which progress is blocked.
