Cova de la Figuera

The first exploration and mention of these small cavities was carried out by GEFOMA. Not in vain, before 1970 there was no kind of path after the Camarasa dam; the path (on foot) that went to La Maçana passed over the serra de Penalta until descending to the Barranc de les Figueretes, where the track coming from Alòs de Balaguer passed, which was the only access they had. The new track was initially paid for out of the pocket of the owner of La Maçana (personal conversation); we do not know whether he ended up being reimbursed, since he had a dispute for this reason with the diputació.
