Località

Before reaching the village of Alfara de Carles, a turnoff to the left leads to the centre of El Toscar. Here, follow the path that climbs to the coll de Morera and at this point, turn left to take the path of the Cova Pintada d'Alfara. Following this path and after passing a high-voltage tower, on the right of the trail and visible from it, there is a cut in the wall. Inside this cut there is a small concavity that does not go deep, but about 5 m from it is the cave.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance appears as a narrow hole that descends 1 m of drop and gives way to a single chamber about 8 m wide, 15 m long and with a maximum height of 3 m.

Concrezioni

Some lithogenic formations can be observed.

Idrologia

On a later visit, which was a rainy day, a small stream of water could be observed flowing through a narrow sinkhole with possibilities of being cleared in the future.

Some bats and calcified animal bone remains have also been observed.

Storia

Located in November 2020 by Joan Ramírez (CE Dinàmics, la Ràpita). Inside, a candle was found, an unmistakable sign of an earlier anonymous visit. During the second visit, remains of three more candles were found.
