Località

It is located in front of and N of kilometre 7 of the road from Tremp to the Pont de Montanyana, on the N slope of the Barranc de Sant Miquel and W of the corral de l'Ensenyat, on a small crag about 30 metres from the thalweg of the torrent, with a dense group of oaks in front. Approximate coordinates without much precision.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance opens at the foot of a crag (formed by limestone strata with sandy and marl layers) and preceded by a small pile of blocks fallen from the crag wall. These fallen blocks delimit a small vestibule of 6x7 metres and 2 in height, at the back of which an ascending passage leads to the main chamber of the cavity, 15x9 metres and a height between 1.50 and 2 metres. The floor is occupied by blocks and concretion that cements them in the form of stalagmitic flows that grow on top. These same blocks separate this chamber from two lateral ones, with a low ceiling; the length reaches 45 metres and the vertical extent is 4 metres (-1.5/+2.5).
