Descrizione
Morfologia
The main entrance (entrance 1) is large, easy to recognise in the aerial photograph. It leads to an 11 metre pitch that places us at the upper part of a large boulder ramp that occupies the entire floor of a chamber of 36 x 14 metres, with a fairly high ceiling. The chamber remains softly lit by the dimensions of the entrances.
The access through the second entrance, in the form of a canyon, begins with a grassy ramp that ends in front of a vertical step. After another ramp section and a second step, this one inclined, we reach the main chamber.
On the opposite wall and well above, there is the third entrance, which emerges hanging in the very middle of the cliff.
Total vertical drop: 39 m. (- 34; + 5)
Storia
Despite being a cavity known since time immemorial by the people of the area, it does not appear in the old catalogues. The first mentions correspond to Cèsar August Torras, who in his work El Pirineu Català, volum del Berguedà (1905), gives a fairly accurate description of the cavity. It was later mentioned in various hiking guides.
Members of the SIE – CEA visited it in October 1979 and made a first survey that would appear in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (vol. 5, 1980).
In 2008 it was visited by members of the GE Badalona and EC Gràcia, who made a careful record of the cavity.
We suspect that the cavity mentioned by Faura in his Recull Espeleològic (1909) as Bòfia de la Ginebreda could be the same as the Bòfia de les Cinglades. Although in 1980, in the Fumanya area, some shepherds commented to members of the SIE that the Bòfia de la Ginebreda was a rock shelter located in the Baga de Vallcebre, many doubts remain on the matter.
