Località

The rock shelter is located in the Fou area, in the municipality of Sant Martí de Tous, in the comarca of Anoia.

From the village of Sant Martí de Tous we will continue along carrer de la Fou to the edge of the village, cross the bridge over the riera de Tous, continue, always, along the main track heading SW, pass several turn-offs, pass by the tower of Aubereda, here we will take a turn-off to the right continuing until the track crosses the riera, here we will leave the car, continue along a small path that will take us to a viewpoint where the saltant de la Fou can be seen.

From here a small trail descends to the bottom of the torrent where we will gradually find the balmes de la Fou and the cova del Diable.

Descrizione

Morfologia

This rock shelter has maximum dimensions of 60 metres in width by 10 metres in depth and 15 metres in height. At its E end, a gallery 3 metres long opens up.

Idrologia

In rainy periods, the riera overcomes this saltant, creating a beautiful waterfall.

Progressione

We will descend along the path until we reach the torrent bed, cross it and the first cave we will find will be the cova del Diable. Continuing upstream, at the foot of the Saltant de la Fou is the rock shelter.

Storia

Known since time immemorial.
