A pit with 15.5 m of vertical drop, structured along a joint and open through the crag from top to bottom, above the C-55, near Can Paloma and the Puda de Montserrat.

Caratteristiche

Località

It is located on a crag above the C-55, about 415 metres E (E9N) of Can Paloma and about 250 metres S of the Puda de Montserrat. On this crag there is a climbing area known as “Les puces”.

At Km. 7.35 of the C-55 road from Abrera to Manresa, take a turn-off, the B-113. At Km. 4.1, a track, often closed, runs alongside a small vineyard. At a point where the track makes a 90º turn to the right, the path leaves in a N direction and will take us to the foot of the crag.

About thirty metres to the right (W) is the base of the avenc Rubricata.

The coordinates correspond to the upper entrance.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A pit with 15.5 m of vertical drop, structured along a joint and open through the crag from top to bottom. The fissure along which the pit is structured remains largely open, on the crag.

Progressione

The upper entrance gives way to 2 small drops that allow access to a window open in the upper part of the crag (-3.5 m). Continuing the descent, one reaches two perpendicular galleries (-7.3 m), one of them ascending.

The pit continues downwards with an alternation of drops and small ramps down to the bottom, where one can exit to the outside.

Storia

In 1985 (the year of the millennium of Esparreguera) and invited by the owners of Can Paloma, members of the ERE of the CEC surveyed the pit and other nearby cavities.
