Small pit with a 7 m vertical drop at Can Verdeguer (Mediona), with two feasible entrances at the NW and SE ends.

Caratteristiche

Località

From the Can Verdaguer housing development, located to the ESE of Mediona, we will ascend along Camí de la Miranda street toward the small summit of the Talaia; a little before reaching the summit itself we will take the Clivelleres path that branches off to the right. The uphill path leaves the housing development on a steep paved ramp followed by a left-hand bend.

From the bend an uphill trail begins through the forest, which we will follow for 130 m in a SW direction; we will arrive in front of a small cliff with its base full of blocks, we will follow the base of the cliff in a NW direction, descending over the fallen blocks for about 150 m. The main entrance of the pit is found by climbing a small ramp at the base of the cliff.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The pit is formed parallel to the line of cliffs; it has two feasible entrances at its NW and SE ends; the widest and most comfortable is the one located at the NW, which allows reaching the bottom of the cavity after a drop and a series of ramps; the ceiling of this entrance has a window communicating with the outside.

From the SE entrance the bottom of the cavity can also be reached, but the fissure is considerably narrower and more difficult; in the upper part of this access there is an upper conduit that climbs up to the highest point of the cavity.

Vertical drop: 7 m (-4; +3).

Storia

Unpublished cavity. As we have already indicated for pit no. 3, for the moment no. 4 is being skipped since it has not been possible to locate it. Of the numbers, theoretically painted from 1 to 4, only the one at the entrance of number 3 can be seen.
