Località

From the doline of Campgràs we will go up the road towards puig Ginebró, where the “ball” of the radioelectric installations of the serrat de la Morella is located. On reaching the last crossroads after the steep climb, we will head in direction E16S for 114 metres, the point where the cavity is found; after 45 metres of route we will already make out the whole slope, where various cairns are visible, among them that of the avenc del Tita (data from 2012). The cavity is located 10 metres below the avenc de la Lira.

Descrizione

Morfologia

An elongated opening gives access to a narrow shaft 6 metres deep, with a ledge at 2.50 metres. The base of the shaft descends steeply until reaching -8 metres, where the cavity ends.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out by GEFOMA (Grup Espeleològic del Foment Martinenc) in 1969. The cavity was named Avenc del Tita; Tita was the nickname by which en Carlos Piedra was known, one of its discoverers. Unfortunately, when the “Catálogo espeleológico del macizo de Garraf” was published, it was erroneously catalogued as Avenc de la Tita.
