Località

Following the path from Can Puigmoltó towards Coll Sostrell, when it turns right, it crosses the entire upper flat area of les Agulles and immediately afterwards a marked hairpin bend begins. At this point there is a shortcut that goes directly to Coll Sostrell. About a hundred metres before, still in the flat area, one must leave the path to the right and descend slightly towards the tributary stream of the Fondo de la Troneda; after a few metres, a clearing in the vegetation clearly marks the location of the pit.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Consisting of a single 25 metre pit at whose base a short slope begins that reaches the maximum depth. At this point a chimney opens parallel to the main pit, 13 metres high and communicating with it at four different points.

Storia

Mentioned by Puig y Larraz (1896) from an earlier citation appearing in L'Excursionista (1892). It is the first pit in Garraf to be mentioned in a speleological catalogue.

The first exploration was carried out by N. Font i Sagué on 20 July 1898, finding the cavity turned into a livestock cemetery.

A few months before the start of the campaigns led by Rafael Amat i Carreras, his cousin Gabriel Amat i Pagés together with a friend descended it on 2 October 1922 with a simple rope and the adventure nearly ended in tragedy.
