Descrizione
Morfologia
The entrance lies in an old sparry calcite excavation, where the first shaft begins with a drop of 21 metres. At its bottom, and a little more than 1 metre above its base, a window gives access to a second vertical, with a blind dome and a drop of 16 metres. Then, through a small shaft of 7 metres with a bell shape, the point of maximum depth is reached.
The origin of the pit seems to be due to the union of three independent concavities that developed until they joined, plus two more of lesser importance. There still remains the possibility of a theoretical concavity that would correspond to the area of the small entrance trench and that would have been dismantled by the headward erosion of the head of the fondo de la Troneda.

Storia
Discovered around the middle of the 1910s during the working of a small sparry calcite quarry. Its owner, Joan Mas, had descended the first shaft. The first complete exploration was carried out on 14 August 1923 by Rafael Amat i Carreras and his companions, who attributed a depth of 58 metres to it.
In 1947, a group from the Club Muntanyenc Barcelonès (who the following year would found the GES), explored it thinking it was an unpublished cavity and named it Avenc de la Troneda; shortly afterwards they realised their mistake.
