A 15-metre-deep pit in Boumort, in the municipality of Conca de Dalt, explored by the SIE of the CE Àliga in the summer of 1964.

Località

The pit is located in Boumort, in the municipality of Conca de Dalt. From Hortoneda we head to the Coll de la Creu, we continue towards the house of les Freixes; from the height of this one we continue for approximately 1.8 kilometres, where we will find a crossroads. We will have to follow the track on the left for about 4.2 kilometres, where in the middle of a marked left-hand bend a path comes out on the right that heads towards the serrat de Penalta. After 400 metres we will arrive at a broad flat area free of vegetation; from here we will have to descend towards the Llau de la Solana de Palles, and the wide mouth of the cavity is located a short way from the start of the slope.

Another possibility of accessing the serrat de Penalta is from Boixols, via the coll de Llivia, in the direction of the cap del Boumort; the track begins to descend along the NW slope and we soon arrive at the point indicated previously. Approximate coordinates.

Morfologia

A broad doline-like depression leads us to a pit 14 metres deep that places us on a sloping base, at the end of which the 15 metres of depth are reached.

Storia

Explored by the SIE of the CE Àliga in the summer of 1964.
