Caratteristiche

Località

To the right of the B-122 road, from Terrassa to Rellinars, a track begins that heads towards the torrent Maleït, but at its very start a path climbs up the ridge of the so-called Serra de la Daina. On reaching the ridge there is an electricity pylon. A little more than 100 metres SW of this pylon is the pit, which must be looked for before reaching the top of the ridge, on the left of the path and relatively easy to find because the earthy entrance funnel is quite visible.

Descrizione

Morfologia

At the bottom of the entrance funnel a shaft 6 metres deep begins, with an earthy entrance but solid walls. At its bottom, via a short ramp and a fairly narrow passage, one reaches a short chamber where we can stand upright. At its base we will observe that this small chamber is excavated thanks to a stratum of sandstones.

Idrologia

The cavity was a point of infiltration of the ridge that gives it its name: in cracks such as this one, water has been widening those that offered it least resistance, forming small points of filtration towards the interior of the massif to emerge at some spring or other; who knows whether, given its situation, it might not even feed the Caus del Guitard.

Progressione

Update: In July 2020, during a visit by members of the SIS-CET, they observe that the narrow passage that gave access to the final small chamber is filled with sediments.

Storia

Discovered in April 1987 while clearing the part burned in the fire of the previous summer. The woodcutter Elies Sánchez, questioned by Jaume Claverí, provided him with the location.

The first exploration took place on 10 January 1988 by J. Claverí and J.A. Pérez (GES – CM Terrassa), but they did not reach the final small chamber, whose access was closed by the branches from the clearing of the forest. This small chamber was discovered the following month when members of the SIS – CET and Jaume Claverí made the second exploration and survey.
