Caratteristiche

Località

In the Canal de l'Avenc, SW of the Morral d'en Bru.

The approach can be made from km. 12 of the TV-3421 road, from Mas de Barberans to la Sènia, where a track begins (sign: a Casetes Velles) that follows the barranc de la Galera. Very soon you must turn off onto another track, on the left, which enters through the Barranc del Regatxol and follow it to the end at the Barranc de les Carroveres. Here, on the left, a path begins that climbs to the ridge and from there approaches the beginning of the ravine.

Do not confuse it with a Barranc de l'Avenc that appears on different maps (including even the ICC one) located a little further South.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The mouth of the pit is hanging on a small cliff of about 15 metres, although erosion has excavated one face of the upper zone of the shaft, creating a balcony of access to the vertical of about 50 metres of good dimensions. At its base it remains blocked by clastic products.

Both the survey (GIE, 1968) and the sketch (EC Tortosa 2001), unpublished until now, place the 0 level at the upper lip.

Storia

Known forever by the people of Mas de Barberans. The first exploration was carried out by members of the GIE – CE Gràcia on 26 July 1968.

It is also known by the colleagues of the Espeleo Club Tortosa who explored it around the year 2001 and it is cited in a couple of blogs about canyoning.
